Posted on · Harris County says it will hire an architect to help decide whether an iconic pavilion in Laporte on Galveston Bay should be restored or torn down. Built in the 1950s, the Sylvan Beach Pavilion has hosted countless banquets, weddings and dances over the years. Although it withstood Hurricane Ike, county officials want to think long and hard about whether it's worth the money. Pat Hernandez reports.
