Magnolia ISD ends policy previously requiring boys to have short hair

Posted on December 14, 2021 · At the start of the school year, Magnolia ISD suspended several students for having long hair, barring them from attending regular classes and extracurricular activities. Three were later expelled.

Magnolia ISD agrees to pause enforcement of district-wide long hair policy for boys and nonbinary students

Posted on November 4, 2021 · The district will now allow boys and nonbinary students to wear their hair longer than the bottom of their ear and to fashion their hair in a ponytail or bun without fear of punishment.

Posted on October 26, 2021 · Seven Magnolia ISD students filed a federal lawsuit against the district last week over a policy that prohibits boys — and not girls — from wearing long hair.
