Jurors will receive increased pay in Harris County

Posted on September 5, 2023 · The first day of payment for jury service increased from $6 to $20. For subsequent days, the pay will rise from $40 to $58.

Judge temporarily blocks law abolishing Harris County elections administrator’s office; Texas AG files appeal

Posted on August 15, 2023 · Senate Bill 1750 was set to take effect September 1. It would require the county to get rid of its appointed elections administrator and shift the office’s functions back to the elected county clerk and county tax assessor-collector.

Trump pleads not guilty to federal charges that he tried to overturn 2020 election

Posted on August 3, 2023 · Trump appeared before a magistrate judge in Washington’s federal courthouse two days after being indicted on four felony counts. The charges accuse him of trying to subvert the will of voters and undo his election loss in the days before Jan. 6, 2021, when supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in a violent and bloody clash with law enforcement.
