Two Houston post offices suspend retail operations, with USPS citing safety as reason

Posted on September 21, 2023 · The branches in the Medical Center and Greenspoint areas are both undergoing building renovations, according to USPS. The Houston Police Department has received a total of 26 calls for service to those locations during the last six months.

Recent fish kills in Galveston area could be product of prolonged hot weather

Posted on September 13, 2023 · Mass fish casualties resulting from low dissolved oxygen levels are most common in the late spring and early summer, according to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. But there have been multiple fish kill events in the Galveston area this month.

Houston man accused of stealing Reggie Jackson’s sports car wanted by police

Posted on September 7, 2023 · Juan Luna, 30, has been charged with aggregate theft related to the theft of Jackson's Dodge Charger Hellcat as well as a Dodge Ram pickup truck on Aug. 29, along with evading arrest and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly crashing into multiple vehicles while evading police.

County commissioners vote to put $2.5 billion bond proposal for Harris Health System on November ballot

Posted on August 17, 2023 · LBJ and Ben Taub hospitals are operating at or above capacity and have not had significant upgrades in about 30 years, according to county officials, while Harris County’s population has nearly doubled during that span.
