Mincho Jacob is a radio producer, chef, and bassist. He spent a decade learning the craft of storytelling and radio production with Latino USA, the longest running national Latino news and cultural public radio program. Mincho is also a chef, focusing on learning and sharing the foodways of the Indigenous peoples of Texas, Guatemala and Mexico. He co-founded Franklin Barbecue and helped create an educational web series for barbecue enthusiasts with KLRU-Austin PBS. It later became a syndicated television show on PBS: Barbecue with Franklin. He also had a brief cameo in the movie, Chef (don’t blink or you’ll miss it!). In his free time, he is learning his ancestral language, Mayan Q’eqchi’, gardening, and playing cumbia.
