What is National Chamber Music Month?

Chamber Music America (a nonprofit national service organization for ensemble music professionals) has designated May to be “National Chamber Music Month.” This designation is meant to bring public and media awareness to small ensemble music in the US. In addition to participation in this broader celebration, the Houston Public Media Arts & Culture department will highlight the substantial contributions that Houston ensembles and presenters make to the form by providing our audience with fresh chamber music-related content, on air, online, and on social media throughout this month.
