For the full hour, we are joined by Begonia Santos, the Executive Director & COO of the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute, who explains the work the Institute does in promoting cultural ties between the U.S. and Spain.

Also joining the program is His Excellency, Ambassador Santiago Cabanas, the Ambassador of Spain to the United States, who shares insight on the relations between the U.S. and Spain, and the work the Embassy of Spain in the U.S. does with the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute.

Then, we're joined by Dr. Richard Kagan, Professor Emeritus of History at Johns Hopkins University, who discusses Spanish history in the United States, including early Spanish explorers that came to Texas.

Plus, University of Houston Associate Professor in History, Dr. Raúl Ramos joins the conversation to discuss the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute's introduction of the Portal of Hispanic History to the Americas, an accessible and free extensive database of historical figures and events in Hispanic history.

The Portal of Hispanic History is available for the public's use at the Houston Public Library Julia Ideson Building.
