With all the distractions we have today, from cell phones to social media, it can be very difficult for parents to encourage their children to read.

For this conversation, we talk with international best-selling author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, Jeff Kinney, to discuss his widely popular books and his contributions to creating more young readers. The latest entry in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, Diper Överlöde is available now wherever books are sold.

The Diper Överlöde Tour rocks Houston on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. Jeff Kinney emcees this special concert-style event at Alief Taylor High School Auditorium. The event is hosted by Blue Willow Bookshop. For more information, click here.

Also, the second book in the series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, comes to life on screen with a premiere December 2, 2022 on Disney+.

Then, we converse with the President of the American Association of School Librarians who is with us to answer literary questions and to offer her insight on children's literacy.

To download free e-books from your local library, download the Libby app from your favorite app store.

If you believe your child can learn to read more through Zines, check out Zine Fest Houston on November 12, 2022, from 12pm to 6pm at the Orange Show. For more information, click here.
