The Tony Award-winning musical, Hadestown, is a retelling of the ancient Greek myth of the tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice put in a Great Depression-era inspired setting.
Our special guest is legendary Broadway actor André De Shields who originated the role of Hermes in the Original Broadway production of Hadestown which won him his first Tony Award at the age of 73. De Shields is currently starring on Broadway as Ben Loman in Death of a Salesman.
We also talk with Hannah Whitley, who makes her national tour debut in Hadestown as Eurydice. Plus, we discuss the Greek mythology behind the celebrated musical.
