With the House Committee describing the 2021 January 6 insurrection as an organized conspiracy directed and coordinated by then President Donald Trump to remain in power, it’s seen as one of the darkest acts culminating in the worst attack on the U.S. Capitol since 1814.

House Committee Vice-Chair Liz Cheney and Chairman Bennie Thompson shared testimony and findings that showed the former president knew he had not won the 2020 election, and yet, he continued his assault on American Democracy.

One of many Capitol Police officers injured at January 6 insurrection, Caroline Edwards, also testified on the attack saying, “It was carnage, and it was chaos. I can’t even describe what I saw. Never in my wildest dreams did I think as a police officer, I would find myself in the middle of a battle.”

In addition to Thompson, Chaney, and Edwards, what did you think of the other live testimonies from those like filmmaker Nick Quested, for example?

What questions do we still need answered?

Is there more information to be uncovered by the January 6th committee?

We talk with local political experts and get listeners reactions to the first hearings.
