Earlier today, Fort Bend County raised its COVID-19 threat level from "yellow," or moderate risk, to "orange," which means there's a significant risk of exposure to the virus in that area.

Harris County remains under the "orange" threat level as well.

The spread of the Delta variant is leading to a surge of COVID cases and hospitalizations in the Greater Houston area.

But on the flip side, vaccinations are also up.

Harris County – and all of Texas – saw a sharp increase last week: a 26% jump in the state-wide vaccinations.

Will the trend continue?

Will things get worse before they get better?

How do we keep children safe as the school year approaches?

Today, medical experts are here to discuss, and to answer your COVID questions.

Guests:

Dr. James McDeavitt

Dr. Susan McLellan

  • Medical Director of the Biocontainment Treatment Unit
  • Director of Biosafety for Research-related Infectious Pathogens at UTMB Health
