Comicpalooza, the largest pop-culture convention in the Southern United States, is coming back to the George R. Brown convention center on July 17 – 18. Houston First walks Town Square through convention post-COVID safety protocols and the work it takes to organize an event for an estimated 45,000 attendees.
Ernie Manouse will host live interviews with Danny Trejo on Saturday, July 17th and Ron Perlman on Sunday, July 18th at Comicpalooza.

Houston has a long history of comics fandom going back to the 1960s, including Houstoncon, one of the first comics book conventions debuting 1966. Local comic book experts share how their subculture changed over the years, and the power it to influence pop culture today.
