Town Square: How to Vote in the 2020 Election (Oct. 1, 2020)

We spend an hour with experts to answer your voting questions and concerns.

Frannie Griffin submits her ballot at Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas for the state's runoff elections on July 14.

Town Square with Ernie Manouse is a gathering space for the community to come together and discuss the day's most important and pressing issues.

As part of our series on voting (part 1 & part 2 & part 3), this episode features Pam Gaskin, a longtime member of the League of Women Voters Houston, and Pamela Dora-Thomas, Project Manager of the Voter Registration Department (Outreach Section) with the Harris County Tax Assessor's Office.

With the October 5th voter registration deadline approaching, the experts discuss the ins and outs of registration, mail-in ballots and other voting issues, as well as answer listeners' questions. The guests also comment on today’s announcement from Governor Greg Abbott that Texas will allow only one absentee-ballot drop-off location per county. Voting activists argue that the move is an act of voter suppression.
