Skyline Sessions

Skyline Sessions: Erin Rae

Watch the Nashville-based singer-songwriter perform in the studio.

Indie-folk artist Erin Rae possesses a vocal tone that moves with such ease and pleasantness, it almost disguises the often melancholy content of her songs. Fears, anxiety, bittersweet memories, mental illness: Rae explores these themes with the soothing energy of a healer, her voice emitting a kind of light and warmth inside the darker narrative.

While in Houston for a concert at White Oak Music Hall, Rae visited Houston Public Media to record the songs “Wild Blue Wind” and “The Real Thing,” both from her critically acclaimed recent album Putting On Airs.
