Once considered a kind of “mystery act,” the Los Angeles-based electronic indie-pop group Terror Jr is now “out,” so to speak, having released its auspicious new album Unfortunately, Terror Jr. At 15 songs, the album is an impressive collection of infectious electro-pop melodies paired with lyrical depth, dark humor and sophistication. While in Houston for a concert at White Oak Music Hall, the band brought a stripped-down setup to our studio, even utilizing the Steinway, performing “Have You” and “Terrified,” both from this year’s Unfortunately, Terror Jr.
