Live In Studio: Alex Dezen

Los Angeles-based pop/rock singer-songwriter performs in the Geary Studio.

Alex Dezen is the former lead singer and songwriter for the indie rock band The Damnwells. His solo career credits include four EPs and two full-length records, as well as songs recorded by Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson, and The Veronicas. Dezen’s solo material exudes ’80s-era MTV pop-rock in its snaky guitar and darkly sexy groove. He is the brother of Houston-based singer-songwriter Cameron Dezen Hammon.

This spring, after a concert at White Oak Music Hall, Dezen and his band visited Houston Public Media’s Geary Studio to record the original songs “When You Give Up” and “Randolph Tonight.”
