Skyline Sessions, hosted by St.John Flynn, is a collection of performances recorded here in our Geary Studio against the backdrop of Houston’s downtown skyline, by the best classical musicians from Houston and beyond. In the next installment, the music of two composers from the AFA’s summer music conservatory, Jay Morales and Natsumi Osborn, who have written works for piano, flute, violin and cello will be performed by AFA faculty musicians.

Then, meet Kyle Rivera, Madeline Styskal, and Joshua Zinn, college composers from the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music who have set poems written by students at Kashmere Gardens Elementary School as part of a collaboration between the Moores School, Houston Grand Opera’s community engagement department known as HGOco, Writers in the Schools and Kashmere Gardens Elementary.  HGOco mezzo-soprano Teresa Procter and pianist Mark Buller will perform those.

It’s great homegrown music written by the composers of tomorrow, performed by great musicians. Catch it tomorrow, January 16th, at 10:30pm and on January 20th at 3:30am on Tv 8 HD 8.1, and again on Sunday January 24th at 10pm on TV 8 SD8.2.
