On Friday (Jan. 26), at 8 p.m. DACAMERA presents the Joshua Redman Group: Where Are We. It's a concert at the Wortham's Cullen Theater, and it features a quintet of musicians led by jazz saxophonist Joshua Redman. It also includes pianist Paul Cornish. Redman is the son of legendary saxophonist Dewey Redman and dancer Renee Shedroff. Cornish is a Houston native and former HSPVA student.

In the audio above, the pair tell Houston Matters host Craig Cohen about the concert and album.

Where Are We features arrangements of both original music and a number of standards, all focused on different cities across the country. Redman plays his sax, Cornish is on piano, and they're joined by bassist Philip Norris, drummer Nazir Ebo, and vocalist Gabrielle Cavassa.
