Then, in an unfortunate coincidence, two friends happened to be diagnosed with breast cancer at the exact same time. Their conversations and revelations through that difficult period are the basis of a book called Two By Two, that seeks to pay it forward to others facing similar battles.

And we remember longtime Houston civic leader, activist, and educator Larry Payne, who passed away on Sunday after a battle with cancer.
