Okay, so May Day, the international workers day, has nothing really to do with ‘mayday,’ the international distress code. But as it is the first of May, and a Monday, it’s time for Houston Matters to set aside a portion of the program for the very unimportant matters in our lives in the Bayou City, those things that make life here just a little less than it could be.
Why take this time? Because you can't tackle the major challenges of life if you let the minor ones bring you down. (Like how annoying it is when a radio show uses a fundamental misinterpretation of the phrase “mayday” just to make a not very funny pun). Our solution is called Houstonian Pet Peeves, and it's your chance to vent.
In the audio above, you’ll hear some of your fellow Houstonians’ complaints. Don’t hear one you’d like to articulate? E-mail us at talk@houstonmatters.org and we may share yours on the first Monday in June.
Joining us in today’s moan session are two world-class complainers, Lisa Gray, Op-Ed editor for the Houston Chronicle, and public relations specialist Craig Hlavaty from the Scurfield Group.
