On Wednesday’s show: Hurricane Laura is expected to intensify before making landfall by late evening, and Harris County prepares for the oncoming storm as coastal cities and counties issue mandatory evacuations.

On Wednesday’s Houston Matters: Katy Landry, meteorologist with the National Weather Service, returns with more information on Hurricane Laura. And the Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management walks us through the disaster preparedness strategies for the county.

Also this hour: The City of Galveston and Beaumont were some of several municipalities and surrounding counties in the region that implemented evacuation orders ahead of the storm.
