Our special edition of Houston Matters weekdays at 3 p.m. addresses your questions and concerns about coronavirus as a public service to our listeners.

In the first segment, host Ernie Manouse is joined by Dr. Susan McLellan, Medical Director of the Biocontainment Treatment Unit and the Director of Biosafety for Research-related Infectious Pathogens at UTMB Health in Galveston. Dr. McLellan is one of the primary investigators conducting trials for COVID-19 treatments, including the antiviral drug remdesivir. She gives an update on the latest findings about remdesivir’s effectiveness in treating COVID-19.

In the second half, Ernie is joined by Dr. Catherine Troisi, infectious disease epidemiologist at UTHealth School of Public Health, to talk about the latest news regarding COVID-19. The doctor also answers questions from listeners.
