There's water everywhere. Flooding like you've never seen before.

Your neighbors are scrambling for high, dry ground — some fighting for their lives.

And all you have is an ATV repair shop and some friends.

Well, that's all you need, actually, to get a rescue operation rolling, as a new documentary reveals.

The film, 100 Boats: A Hurricane Harvey Documentary, tells the story of how employees of 3P Offroad, a shop that repairs all-terrain vehicles in the Cypress area, used its ATVs, boats and even a decommissioned Army truck to rescue people stranded in their flooded homes and vehicles during Hurricane Harvey.

The 30-minute film includes footage of some of those rescues as they happened and shows how countless additional volunteers converged on the shop to organize the rescue of an estimated 3,000 people or more.

The film 100 Boats: A Hurricane Harvey Documentary recounts rescue and rebuilding efforts during and after the devastating storm.

In the audio above, director Syed Hasan tells Houston Matters producer Michael Hagerty about the film and the stories it depicts of both those rescue efforts and efforts to rebuild flooded homes in the town of Rosharon.

100 Boats premieres Thursday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. at the River Oaks Theatre.
