Comedian Matt Braunger is a big proponent of failure. Not that he's suggesting you should set out to fail. But he's a champion of its value as a teaching tool.

"You're looking at a 6-foot-4 stack of mistakes," he says in his latest stand up special, Finally Live in Portland.

He uses some of those experiences to answer listener questions in his not-so-serious advice podcast, called Advice From a Dipshit.

In the audio above, he tells Houston Matters producer Michael Hagerty about some of the most serious advice he's had to give, about some of the craziest advice he's given (it involved a possum), and about the important of failure.

Braunger performs at White Oak Music Hall on Saturday night (May 25).
