This weekend (April 4-6), the University of Houston hosts Latino Art Now! a conference featuring performances, lectures, exhibitions, and events at more than 30 venues around the city.

In conjunction with the conference, an exhibit at the University of Houston-Downtown showcases selected prints by Latinx artists from the collection of Ricardo and Harriet Romo, who are based in San Antonio.

The exhibit, Close to Home: Latinx Art and Identity, was curated by Mark Cervenka, director of the O'Kane Gallery at UHD. It runs through April 11.

In the audio above, Houston Matters producer Joshua Zinn talks with Cervenka in the gallery about the collection.
