Dr. Gregory Williams
In his new book, Shattered by the Darkness, Williams, who works as an administrator for Baylor College of Medicine, reveals the after effects of this abuse and shares the lessons he's learned on a journey over 50 years as he sought to overcome his childhood trauma.
He says it took him 35 years to ever tell anyone that he was abused. Now, in his 50s, he says that his life has been shattered. He deals with PTSD and OCD, among other effects of the trauma.
In the audio above, he talks with Houston Matters producer Joshua Zinn about the lessons he wants to impart to victims — as well as those who interact with those victims — and how he came to find some sense of peace.
