Amid the release of names by the Catholic church of priests credibly accused of sexual abuse and a report by the Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News investigating Southern Baptist Convention leaders accused or convicted of sex crimes, we examine how such instances occur and what can be done to prevent them in the future.
