Historian Michael Beschloss Examines Lessons Learned From ‘Presidents Of War’

‘Presidents of War’ examines the difficulties of being a wartime leader and how over our 200-year-plus history executive war decisions have evolved.

1975, the United States has engaged in eight major wars. In his new book, Presidents of War, historian Michael Beschloss looks at those wars and the men who presided over them.

In it, he examines the difficulties of being a wartime leader, how the role of President in wartime has evolved over our 200-year-plus history, and what we should take away from all of this today.

In the audio above, Beschloss talks with producer Joshua Zinn while he was in town for an event with the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston.
