When it comes to the ballot, there are going to be a lot of things to cast your vote for, and it might seem a little overwhelming if you haven't been following all of the national, state, and local races.

So, just before early voting begins on Oct. 22, Houston Matters takes you through the ballot to recap the different races you'll be voting for and explain the major ballot initiatives up for a vote with the help of Jay Aiyer. He’s a political science professor at Texas Southern University and co-host of Houston Public Media's Party Politics podcast.
