Organization Helps Veterans Who Served in the Military’s Bomb Squad

A veteran of the military’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit discusses the stress of the job and helping those who were injured doing it.

EOD — which stands for Explosive Ordnance Disposal — is considered one of the most dangerous occupations in the military. These men and women are responsible for the disarming and disposal of bombs.

The EOD Warrior Foundation is a national organization that provides financial assistance and support to active-duty and veteran EOD technicians and their families.

Timothy Colomer is a Marine Corps veteran and an ambassador with the Houston chapter of the foundation. Back in 2017, he told Houston Matters producer Maggie Martin what makes this particular military specialty unique.
