The Astros struggled over the weekend against the Rangers, being swept in a series for the first time this year. But it’s not for lack of cause. Jose Altuve was placed on DL for the first time in his career with soreness in his right knee. That’s on top of Carlos Correa and Brian McCann still being out. Meanwhile, the team traded for Angels’ catcher Martin Maldonado.

Plus, the Rockets signed Clint Capela to a five-year contract extension, but is Carmelo Anthony any closer to becoming a Rocket? And the Dynamo lost to Portland on Saturday while Texans training camp continues.

We discuss those and other developments in Houston sports with Jeff Balke, who writes for Houston Press and Houstonia Magazine.
