Houston Public Media's Edel Howlin was one of the earliest fixtures of the Houston Matters team in 2013 when the show began.

Howlin made her mark on the program with segments like the one explaining why Houston has so many mattress stores, interviews like the one with the comedian who became mayor of the biggest city in Iceland, and producing our monthly food segment, The Full Menu — among many others.

Since then, she departed the Houston Matters crew to work on other projects for News 88.7, such as producing the Party Politics podcast. And now, she's departing altogether to relocate with her family to Philadelphia.

As is our habit whenever a Houston Public Media mainstay departs for (supposedly) greener pastures, before Edel leaves she must first endure an exit interview with Craig Cohen on Houston Matters, a show she helped create.
