On Monday’s Houston Matters: The Texas National Guard began deploying troops to the US-Mexico border over the weekend. The move came just days after President Trump's call for more border security. We learn more about what those troops will be doing and how their presence will be felt.

Also this hour: Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens has recently called for a repeal of the Second Amendment in order to allow significant gun control legislation. But how hard is it to repeal a constitutional amendment? We talk with Charles "Rocky" Rhodes, from South Texas College of Law Houston to find out.

Plus, we sort through your pet care questions with Dr. Lori Teller from the Meyerland Animal Clinic. And we discuss developments in Houston sports with Jeff Balke.
