Houston is the worst city for dealing with tow trucks and towing companies, according to a new survey from the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI).

The survey says the Houston market is the most “hostile” for consumers when it comes to towing rates and storage fees. And the PCI says Texas is the state most in need of pro-consumer towing reforms, with Dallas ranked as the second-worst market in the country.

Bob Passmore of PCI explains the survey, its findings, and what consumers need to know about dealing with towing companies.

Then, Ken Ulmer, a member of the Texas Towing and Storage Association and chairman of the City of Houston’s automotive board, addresses the criticisms and complaints against towing companies in Houston.
