Stages Repertory Theatre Presents Play With Strong Themes Of Race And History

‘We are Proud to Present a Presentation’… running at Stages Repertory Theatre through this weekend (March 30-April 1). Though the play covers a serious topic, it does so through the lens of humor and explores the revelations the characters have about history, race.

Alice Gatling, educator, actor,  and director will be directing a play at Stages Repertory Theatre calledWe are Proud to Present a Presentation About the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as South-West Africa, From the German Sudwestafrika, Between the Years 1884-1915′is the full, official title of a play currently running at Stages Repertory Theatre through the weekend (March 30-April 1).

The play follows a group of actors who are piecing together a historical reenactment of an event from the early twentieth century when German colonists clashed with a Namibian tribe. Though the play covers a serious topic, it does so through the lens of humor and explores the revelations the characters have about history, race, and theatre during their rehearsals.
