Do you know the difference between the dinner fork and the salad fork? Do you know how to properly fold your napkin when you're done eating?

These questions of etiquette might not be completely necessary to get through life, but, for the Career Services Department at the University of Houston, teaching these rules is an important part of their mission to prepare students for their future professional lives.

Monica Thompson, the department's director, found the best way to teach those rules was through a practical etiquette dinner, where students essentially play out a business dinner and learn the rules and customs.

Houston Matters host Craig Cohen learns more about the dinners from Thompson, who explains why she thinks teaching etiquette is still so important.
