Houston Matters’ November 2016 town hall discussion about the relationship between Greater Houston law enforcement and the black community.

It has been 15 months since our town hall was held discussing the relationship between Greater Houston law enforcement and the African-American community. We continue to explore that issue with Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo and Ashton P. Woods, human rights activist and founder of Black Lives Matter Houston.

We re-examine what's happened in our culture and politics nationwide and in Houston since our town hall. This discussion is part of a weeklong series of conversations in conjunction with Houston Public Media's Legacies initiative, in partnership with Greater Houston’s two historically black universities: Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern.
