The Texas Commission on Public School Finance is meeting for the first time today.
The group is charged with making recommendations to change the way public schools are funded in the Lone Star State. But, it's not the first time Texas has tried to do so.
To learn more, Chandra Villanueva talks with Houston Matters host Craig Cohen. Villanueva's a senior policy analyst with the Center for Public Policy Priorities. She attended the commission's first meeting today and tells us what’s happened so far. And she explains how this attempt to change the school funding system compares to others in the past.
