Okay, yes, it's cold this week. But it's a lot worse in cities like Erie, Penn., which has seen nearly seven feet of snow since Christmas. And we all know what's coming here in Houston – those summer months of oppressive heat and humidity that even the current winter chill can't completely freeze from our memory.

But if you work in certain buildings downtown, you never need to step outside, thanks to Houston's air-conditioned, underground tunnel system, complete with shops, restaurants, art exhibits and more.

Back in 2014, Sandra Lord from Houston Urban Adventures and Discover Houston Tours, told Houston Matters host Craig Cohen about the history of the tunnels.
