Full Show: Latino Town Hall Preview, And The Good, Bad, And Ugly of Houston News (July 21,2017)

Houston Matters previews a live town hall exploring issues within Houston’s Latino community. We discuss The Good, Bad and Ugly of the week’s news and visit the Harris County Animal Shelter.

“Tu Voz es Poder,” or “Your Voice is Power” is an upcoming live broadcast on Houston Public Media TV 8 that will also be streamed by Univision 45 in Spanish, covering topics about the Hispanic and Latino communities and immigration legislation.

The 90-minute town hall broadcast will feature a panel of guests that includes the Houston Police Chief and members of immigrant rights organizations. Ahead of tonight’s broadcast, we speak with the producer of the town hall, Edel Howlin, the Digital Studio Host Aurora Losada, and Cesar Espinosa of FIEL Houston (Familias Immigrantes y Estudiantes en la Lucha—Immigrant Families and Students in the Struggle).

Also this hour: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly of the news, and we visit the Harris County Animal Shelter.
