After the Memorial Day floods last year, we discussed what kind of health hazards such weather events usher in. We spoke with Dr. Scott Lea, Associate Professor and Infectious Diseases Clinic Director, in the Department of Internal Medicine's Division of Infectious Diseases at UTMB. He started by explaining why residents shouldn't allow pets to frolick in these large bodies of standing water.
