A Houston affiliate of a service called Rent the Chicken seeks to make it easier for suburbanites to become backyard farmers.

Ed and Diane Roberson, known in the Rent the Chicken world as “Homestead Ed and Diane” will rent you two or four egg-laying hens, a coop, chicken feed and the like for six months, with delivery within 50 miles of Katy.
