The Midtown area was the original home to Vietnamese refugees in the mid-70s after the fall of Saigon. In fact, Houston by 1981 had the largest Vietnamese population outside of California. Nowadays, you’ll come across Vietnamese restaurants along Bellaire Boulevard and even stretching into the suburbs of the Greater Houston region.
