The Houston Astros made a flurry of moves in recent days, reshaping their major league roster, but failed to land a free agent pitcher who seemed poised to sign, but backed out for reasons still unclear.

The Houston Rockets won three of four last week, despite an injury to Dwight Howard, as James Harden continued to score at a league-leading pace, strengthening a case for MVP consideration. And still, all anyone really wants to talk about is “Deflate-gate.”
