Since Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula, there have been countless films, TV shows and literature featuring the iconic monster.

The Alley Theatre is bringing the classic story back to stage with Dracula, The Original Vampire Play. The Alley’s production is based on the original 1927 adaptation of the classic thriller.

The production runs October 3rd through November 2nd at the University of Houston’s Wortham Theatre.

Houston Matters’ Maggie Martin sat down with Gregory Boyd, Alley Theatre’s Artistic Director and the director of the production, to talk about how the play inspired the creation of other vampire stories we know today.
