Pit Bull Rescue Launches Therapy Program to Save Dogs and Heal Veterans

Houston’s pit bull rescue is launching a new program to train rescued pit bulls as service dogs for military veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Organizers say Operation Pits Healing Heroes is designed to save the lives of pit bulls while helping veterans cope with PTSD. Houston Matters’ Maggie Martin reports.

Marine veteran Justin Masters says 3-year-old Pancake makes his life with PTSD a lot easier. His wife, Lauren, heads up Operation Pits Healing Heroes. She says her husband is much happier with Pancake nearby.
