Lyricist Tim Rice is probably best known for his collaborations with Andrew Lloyd Webber, on musicals including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar (two shows which will be on stage here in Houston over the next year) and Evita, a production of which wraps up here in Houston on Sunday. Rice is also well-known for his collaborations with Elton John on The Lion King and Aida.

The famed lyricist spoke this week with Houston Public Media’s Ernie Manouse about his long stage career, beginning with Evita.
