No doubt about it: There’s lots to do in Greater Houston. But some of it can be pretty darned expensive. A nice dinner out, a show, a little shopping, parking – if you’re not careful, you can spend a lot of scratch in just one night on the town.

But you don’t have to. There are lots of entertaining ways to spend time in Houston without spending a lot of money.

On this edition of Houston Matters, we welcome your examples of living in and enjoying Greater Houston “on the cheap.” Share your ideas with us for penny-wise and fun-sure activities.

We also solicit suggestions from Vicki Powers, founder of the Houston on the Cheap website, A.J. Mistretta, Public Relations Manager with the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Eric Sandler, who covers the bar and restaurant scene for CultureMap Houston.
