For the first time Houston is hosting its own Mardi Gras in the form of the Houston Creole Festival and Mardi Gras Parade.

Before you natives of New Orleans get upset about yet another Mardi Gras festival that is not THE Mardi Gras on Bourbon street, this one is being organized specifically for Katrina evacuees who found their way to Houston. We hear from the event’s executive director Justin Brewster.
