Hermann Park will be celebrating its Centennial next year. Philanthropist George Hermann donated the park to the city of Houston in 1914. The park has changed dramatically over the past 100 years, with the addition of many features including the Hermann Park Railroad. For many Houstonians, the train is a beloved part of their memories. The Hermann Park Conservancy oversees the railroad there. Houston Mattersâ Maggie Martin rode along with Conservancy President Doreen Stoller to find out why Houstonians are making the train a part of their family tradition.
